Since I have tried some US craft beers, 4 years ago, I am always more tempted in drinking beers from you guys, neighbours from the south ten beers from where I am from: Quebec, Canada ! As I am not travelling that much, I need to set up trades with beer geek from the United States and make them ship beer to the border. Than, I need to cross the border my self with it. That way, I don’t have access to all of the brews released during a year. Even with that little difficulty, I was able to try more than 400 different beers this year.
Thanks to all the persons I have trade with this year !
Here’s the 10 beers I liked the most earlier this year !
Just click on the picture to get more details !!!!

09 – Foley Brothers Brewing – Pieces of Eight : Got this one during a trip in Vermont state, last may. Very nice brewery, well located in a quiet area where you can bring your lunch and have a snack on the grass, sipping their hoppy brews. This double IPA was a killer ! Whit all the awesome DIPA in Vermont, it is risky to release one, when you are a young brewery. Brothers, you did more than well ! Keep on brewing guys !

08 – Trillium Brewing Company – Fort Point Pale Ale : Thanks to the Facebook beer community for this one. I have met a guy from Texas that was travelling at Trillium. He was kind enough to ship me a box with all the beers offered at that moment at Trillium. Fort Point got my attention ! Never drank a pale ale with a body rich like that ! I am in live with their beers !!!

07 – Avery Brewing Company – Insula Multos Collibus : I was able to buy this one during my summer vacations in Virginia Beach. Had no expectations ! What a blastI had at the first sip !!! I always knew that cherries and bourbon paires well together, but with the malted body and the barrel aging, this one was a very nice surprise. I know that all Avery worth to try, but this on’s a must !!!

06- Lost Nation Brewing – The Wind : Vermont is one of the closest state from where I am located. So when there’s a nice brewery like Lost nation, I make sure I go there a few times a year. This grapefruit gose hopped with city was so easy to drink during the hot summer days ! I also enjoyed a lot the brett version and the fact that it was a low ABV beer with such body ! I must admit, that the food at the brewpub worth a visit too ! very tasty !

05 – Pizza Boy Brewing Company – Golden Sour : This beer was very precious. It got stuck at the border for 9 months, and finally released, just before my summer vacations !!! Probably the tastier 3% ABV beer I’ve had in all my 2300 beers I have tried. The barrel aging was done perfectly. The winous flavours were very intense !

04 – Jester King Brewery – Provenance Orange & Grapefruit : My first beer with orange in it. When it comes to blend beers and fruits, JK is always a sure value. Since my first try, with Noble King, I’m always down to trade some of their offerings. Thanks Alex ! This beers made a very good appetizer before a tartare dish !

02 – Perennial Artisan Ales – Abaraxas 2015 : This one doesn’t need presentation. It took me a while to grab one, but I as not disappointed at all ! Chili stouts are very trendy and I like the pairing of the spices and the chocolate/roasted body of the beer. I would have drink the whole bottle alone !!! I don’t want to thing about the barrel aged version…

01 – Sante Adarius Rustic Ales – West Ashley Batch 6 : Not an easy one to trade for ! Thanks to Jon for sharing this one with me ! Your tasting are always nice. Here’s my best apricot beer, ever ! Even more than Foufoune !!! I think the the pinot noir barrels add a nice layer of complexity in this simple saison base beer !!! If you have the chance to get one, trade your mother for it !!! You won,t be disappointed !!!
